The last shadow shadow puppets

The Last Shadow Puppets is a supergroup . Participants Alex Turner and Miles Kane , at its formation, were already frontmen of two different groups - Arctic Monkeys and The Rascals . The Rascals introduced the British rock alternative and was just starting to gain momentum. Arctic Monkeys has already been promoted to the name of "the most successful British rock band." Despite this, two young musicians acted on an equal footing. Inviting producer Ford James and arranger Pallett Owen , they forgot about modern rock for a while and, focusing on the music of the 1960s, mainly Scott Walker , released the album The Age of the Understatement , which instantly won first place on the British chart after the release and received good reviews from critics.

The band's first concert took place in Brooklyn, New York on March 4, 2008. On March 5, a video of the single “ The Age of the Understatement ” appeared on the official website, which was shot in Moscow .

The debut album - The Age of the Understatement was released on April 21, 2008 .

In 2007, The Rascals and Arctic Monkeys conducted a joint tour in the UK .

On August 12, 2010, The Last Shadow Puppets gave a concert in Los Angeles at Club Nokia in support of Brian O'Connor, from the band Eagles of Death Metal , seriously ill with cancer . Alex and Miles performed 6 songs (“The Age of Understatement”, “My Mistakes Were Made for You”, “In My Room”, “The Chamber”, “Meeting Place” and “Standing Next to Me”). It is noteworthy that their new concert after such a long break took place also in Los Angeles , where they had their previous concert, which took place on November 3, 2008.

According to Pallett, in the spring of 2016, The Last Shadow Puppets will release a new album.

In December 2015, teasers ^{[1] [2] of the} second album appeared on the official pages of the group on Facebook and YouTube , the date of which is scheduled for April 1, 2016. On January 10, 2016, a video for the song “Bad Habits” (Directed by Ben Chappell), March 11, “Everything You've Come To Expect,” and March 16, “Aviation,” May 17, “Miracle Aligner”, were released on the band’s official page on YouTube. . Also, the clip “Aviation” is the backstory of events developing in the clip “Everything You've Come To Expect”, and the clip “Miracle Aligner” is the completion.

March 24, 2016 in Cambridge, the first concert of the tour in support of the album "Everything You've Come To Expect" took place, on August 26 in Paris at the festival "Rock en Seine" - the last performance. As part of the tour, the group performed at many festivals: Open'er festival, Flow festival, EUROCK Eennes, Sziget, WayHome Music & Arts, Oya festival, Rockwave festival, Frequency Festival, Osheaga, T In The Park, Europavox, Lollapalooza, Rock Werchter, Zurich Openair, Glastonbury, Rock en Seine.

On December 2, the EP "The Dream Synopsis" was released, which included two re-recorded songs from the album - Aviation and The Dream Synopsis, as well as 4 cover versions - "Le Cactus" (Original by Jacques Dutronc), "Totally Wired" (Original by The Fall), "This Is Your Life" (Original by Glaxo Babies) and "Is This What You Wanted" (Original by Leonard Cohen).

The Last Shadow Puppets October 17, 2016 released a video on "Is This What You Wanted", November 14 - "Le Cactus", December 5 - "This Is Your Life"
