It was commissioned on November 27, 1940 . It was part of the 1st flotilla , from January 1, 1941 was in the 22nd flotilla , from April 1 to May 8, 1945 it was part of the 31st flotilla . In all the flotilla was used as a training submarine. In 1945, the submarine was transferred to the British navy.
