Most of his career, from 1977 to 1986, Giovanni Galli was a player in the Fiorentina football club. After Florence, Galli played for Milan with which he won many trophies. Then there were "Napoli" , "Torino" and "Parma" . Total in Serie A played 496 matches. He ended his career in 1996 in the club of Series B " Lucchese ".
He was part of the Italian national team at the 1982 World Cup, but in all matches at the tournament, Dino Zoff played at the champion's goal. He made his debut for the Galli national team a year later on October 5, 1983 in a match with the Greek national team . At the next world championship in 1986, he was the main goalkeeper of the national team (played 4 matches).
Currently working as a sports director of the club "Verona" , as well as television and radio commentator.
The son of Giovanni - Niccolò (1983-2001); also was a professional footballer. Killed as a result of a traffic accident at the age of 17 years.
