The city is built at the confluence of two rivers, like Prayaga ( Allahabad ) in India. It is striking in the abundance of temples and pagodas , the grace of Nevar wood carvings, and the structure of the nevar medieval city characteristic of the Mall Dynasty.
The conservation and sanitary condition of the city is controlled by the French project.
Once every 12 years ( 1998 , 2010 , etc. ), the city celebrates Magh-Sankrati.
The main attraction of the city is the temple of Mahadev Mandir.
