Varang kshiti was invented by community leader Lako Bodra as an alternative to writing systems developed by Christian missionaries . According to Laco Bodra himself, the alphabet was actually invented in the 13th century by Dhawan Turi, and was opened to him in divine revelation and modernized by him.

The alphabet begins with the letter Om , in Hinduism - the first sound of the creation of the Universe , bearing a special mystical meaning. It consists of 32 letters (lowercase and uppercase letters are distinguished), it is written from left to right. Each consonant has a default vowel associated with it, usually / a / but sometimes / o / or / e /.

Currently used in education and literature (several books published).

The letter "om" (𑣿).
