At the 1904 Games in St. Louis, Egan participated in two tournaments. He took 19th place in the team, and as a result, his team became the first and won gold awards. In singles, he took 4th place in the qualification, but after passing in the playoffs , he finished the competition in the first round.
Together with him at the Games, his brother Chandler Egan performed.
