2001 Nissan Terrano Regulus

Infiniti entered the SUV market in September 1996 with the QX4 model created on the basis of the second generation Nissan Pathfinder (then Nissan Terrano).

In Japan, the same car was known as the Nissan Terrano Regulus. The model competed in the domestic market with Lexus LX and Isuzu Trooper cars, also known in Japan as the Acura SLX.

The model was equipped with a 3.3 liter VG series engine. In 2000, the engine of the new VQ series with a volume of 3.5 liters appeared, and the timing belt was replaced by a chain.

Also in 2000, the car underwent small changes in the exterior, and a clock appeared on the dashboard.

The last QX4 rolled off the assembly line in November 2002. The model was sold out until 2003, and was later replaced by the FX crossover in 2003 and the larger QX56 in 2004.

In March 2010, the third generation Infiniti QX56 was officially unveiled. The premium SUV is built on the 2011 Nissan Patrol Y62 platform. The new car has become 35.5 mm longer, 28 mm wider and 96.5 mm lower than its predecessor. The drag coefficient of the new body is 0.37, the car can be 7- or 8-seater depending on the configuration of the second-row seats (a single sofa or two separate seats). The only engine available for the QX56 2011 model year is a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 405 hp, which is paired with only a 7-speed automatic transmission . Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is 6.5 seconds. The suspension of all wheels is independent, the brake mechanisms are disc (diameter 350 mm). Like the new Nissan Patrol Y62, the 2011 Infiniti QX56 lost the classic rear axle. In 2013, received a new name Infiniti QX80. In 2014, the QX80 was restyled. In 2017, a second restyling was carried out .
