Newspaper History
The first issue of the newspaper, entitled “Go Togik”, went out of print with a print run of 1,000 copies. March 15, 1925 in the city of Dushanbe . The newspaper was established as a body of the Tajik Organizing Bureau of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Uzbekistan, the Central Revolutionary Committee and the Trade Union of the Tajik ASSR. The second issue of the newspaper was published under the title “Bedoria Tokik”, with a circulation of 2500 copies.
From 1928 to January 1, 1955, the newspaper was published under the name "Toҷikistoni Surkh", and from January 1, 1955 to September 1991, under the name "Toҷikistoni Sovet".
Since September 1991, the newspaper began to be published under the name "Jumhuryat."
Over the years, the newspaper’s chief editors have been distinguished personalities such as Abulkasim Lakhuti , Aminjon Shukuhi , Samad Gani, Ashur Halimov, Goib Kalandarov, Shoddi Saidov, Ibod Fayzullo, Nur Tabarov, Mazhabsho Muhabbatshoev, Shohmuzaffar Yodgumovolom, Subhomonov Kamodhamov, Subhumovolham Kamonov, Subhumov.
Since 2015, the newspaper has been headed by ӣurbonalӣ Raҳmonzoda.
