Grandson of the St. George cavalier, major general , traveler-geographer Yu. A. Sosnovsky (1842-1897) [1] . Wife of Irina Blokhina .
Biography
In 1928, their family moved to the city of Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod ), where in the same year Ugodchikov entered school No. 8, and in 1938 he graduated with honors. Immediately after graduation, she enters the Faculty of Motor Transport of the Gorky Polytechnic Institute .
With the outbreak of war, students either worked in factories, then began to study, then dug anti-tank ditches beyond the Volga, then dug trenches, then made bunkers in the Pavlov area. 8 months of 1942 studied and were prematurely released from the institute in January 1943. About 20% of the enrollment graduated from the institute, since 80% were at the front. Ugodchikov then graduated from the institute with honors as a mechanical engineer.
From 1943 to 1946 he worked at the factories of the USSR Ministry of Arms. Then he enters graduate school in the specialty “Resistance of Materials” at the Gorky Institute of Water Transport Engineers. In 1950 he defended his thesis, and in 1957 - his doctorate. In 1960 he became a professor.
Until 1967, he taught at the Gorky Institute of Civil Engineering - headed the departments of structural mechanics (1958-1966), material resistance, and the theory of elasticity (1966-1967), and from 1967 transferred to Gorky State University (GSU, now Nizhny Novgorod State University ).
In 1969, he became rector of the GSU and, until 1988, led the university. Then he organizes the department of "Theory of elasticity and plasticity" and moves to the position of professor.
He prepared 15 doctors and 70 candidates of sciences.
Published over 160 scientific articles.
Ugodchikov's labor and scientific activity was marked by four orders and six medals of the USSR and the Russian Federation. In 2003, he was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of the Nizhny Novgorod Region."
July 2, 1941 married Irina Blokhina .
He was buried in the Bugrovsky cemetery of Nizhny Novgorod.
