Ota ( Jap. 太 田 川 Ota -gawa ) - one of the most famous and beautiful rivers in Japan , flows through the western territory of Hiroshima Prefecture .

The length of the river is 102.9 km. The source of the river is located on Mount Kammuri (the city of Hatsukati ), and the river flows into the Inland Sea of Japan . The Ota River consists of many tributaries, especially in the upstream. On the Hiroshima plain, it merges with the Tone and Misasa rivers and forms the Hiroshima delta, along with the rivers Kobashi , Temma and Motoyasu .
The Ota River flows through the cities of Kitahiroshima , Akiota , Akitaqata , Higashihiroshima and Hiroshima . The total area of the river basin is 1,710 km²
