Brolin is most famous for his friendship and collaboration with filmmakers, the Cohen brothers , in whom he starred in such famous films as “ Old Men Can't Get Here ” (2006), “ Iron Grip ” (2010) and “ Long Live Caesar!” "(2016). He is also known for films like The Invisible (2000), Welcome to Paradise! ”(2005),“ Gangster ”(2007),“ Harvey Milk ”(2008),“ Men in Black 3 ”(2012),“ Gangster Hunters ”(2013),“ Oldboy ”(2013),“ Labor Day ” (2013), Sin City 2: A Woman Who Is Worth Killing For (2014), Everest (2015), Killer (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Deadpool 2 (2018 ) and Avengers: Final (2019).
Content
The early years
Brolin was born in Los Angeles, California, in the family of wildlife activist Jane Cameron Agee and actor James Brolin. [1] His parents divorced in 1984. Brolin is the stepson of the singer and actress Barbra Streisand [2] .
Career
The film debut of Josh Brolin took place in the film based on the story of Steven Spielberg "Dunce" (1985) [3] . In the following decades, Brolin played a large number of roles and came out of the shadow of his eminent father. Josh Brolin has played in the films: The Invisibility by Paul Verhoeven (2000) and Melinda and Melinda by Woody Allen (2004), as well as in the main role in the Oscar-winning film of the Coen brothers “ Old Men Are Not Here ” (2007). For his role in the movie Harvey Milk (2008), Brolin was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor .
Personal life
Relationships and Children
Brolin was married to actress Alice Eder from 1988 to 1994. They have two children, a son Trevor (born 1988) and a daughter Eden (born 1994) [4] .
In 1998, Brolin began dating actress Minnie Driver , a colleague in the movie Desert Heat. In April 2001, the couple announced their engagement, but in October of that year they broke up [5] .
On August 15, 2004, Brolin married actress Diane Lane . They divorced in 2013 [6] [7] .
In April 2015, Brolin became engaged to his former assistant and model Katherine Boyd [8] . They married on September 24, 2016. [9] On November 4, 2018, Brolin announced that they had a daughter, Westlin Rain Brolin [10] .
Legal issues
On December 19, 2004, Diane Lane called the police after a quarrel with Brolin. He was arrested on charges of domestic violence . Lane refused to press charges, and a spokesman for the couple described the incident as a misunderstanding. [11]
