Biography
The daughter of a truck driver and stenographer , Lin Renault made music thanks to her father, a trumpeter of a local amateur wind band. At the age of seven, she took part in the amateur contest, captivating everyone with her expressive singing.
Lin Renault's father participated in World War II . Having remained in their native village, the family was completely isolated from public life, and her grandmother and great-grandmother were engaged in the education of the girl. Girl Lin had to endure the dramatic execution by Nazis of neighboring old men and youths in a village square in response to the blows of the Resistance movement .
After this tragic page of her life, Lin Renault secretly submitted documents to the Lille Conservatory even during the war, not suspecting that they were recruiting classical singing there. But the error was not in vain. Before the examination committee, she sang the very popular blues of the famous French composer Louis Gasté ( French: Louis Gasté ), and the director of Lille radio, conquered by her singing, offered Lin Reno a job as a singer. Lin Renault then took the pseudonym Jacqueline Rey .
After moving to Paris, Lin Renault awaited international success. She was invited to star and sing in England . She sang in the famous Moulin Rouge and enjoyed overwhelming success with the Americans, thanks to which she received an invitation to work in New York and Los Angeles, and then in Canada. Lin Renault's partners were Johnny Carson, Dyna Shor, Dean Martin and Ed Sullivan. Lin Renault returned to France with the casino de Paris review star in Las Vegas. In 1976-1979, at the age of 50, Lin Renault successfully staged her fifth and final performance there.
In 1994, Lin Reno's husband, composer Lulu Gaste, died, which was a big blow for the actress. Lin Renault steadfastly endured this blow of fate and went headlong into work in the theater, achieving new creative successes. She also starred in films and television. In June 1999, at the age of 94, mother Lin, a very close person, dies.
Lin Renault continues to be one of the most sought after actresses and singers in France. On November 8, 2010, Lin released a new solo album, “Rue Washington,” which included duets with Johnny Halliday (Ce monde est merveilleux) and Milen Farmer (C'est pas l'heure). On May 24 and 25, 2011, Lin Renault concerts are scheduled at Paris Olympia .
