Biography
Alain Shaba was born into a Jewish family who moved to France in 1963 . His acting career began in the 80s. with comedy television roles. The lead role in 1995's Cursed Lawn , a hit in France, earned him the first of his four Cesar Award nominations. In the film, he plays an unfaithful spouse, whose wife has an affair with a lesbian .
In 1997, Alain Shaba made his debut as a film director with the comedy Didier , in which he played the main role - dogs in the image of a person. This debut brought Shaba the first "Cesar". In 1997, Shaba played a major role in the grim cop thriller Cousin.
Shaba gained international fame in 2002 as a director, co-producer and screenwriter of the movie " Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra ", while simultaneously embodying the image of Julius Caesar on the screen. For this role, Shaba was nominated for the Audience Award of the European Film Academy in 2002 .
