Kander ( German Kander ) - a river in the Swiss canton of Bern , originates at an altitude of 1875 m ( Kander glacier ), flows Gasteren valley and through the Klus gorge falls into the Kander valley itself , from which it passes into the Frutig valley; it flows into Lake Tuna at an altitude of 560 m. Before, Kander flowed into the Are , but in 1711-14. To eliminate frequent floods, a canal was built that diverted the river into the lake. Kander is not navigable, its length is 44 km.
