Gers ( Fr. Gers ) - a river in southwestern France , the left tributary of the Garonne . The length is 178 km, the basin area is about 1.7 thousand km². The catchment area is 1700 km².

Jer
The source is on the Lannemezan plateau, at the foot of the Pyrenees . The upper reaches are stormy and have large reserves of hydropower; in the lower reaches it flows along the plain, flows into the Garonne near Agen . Snow and rain food. Characteristic is spring flood, summer low water. Navigable 120 km from the mouth.
On the river is the city of Osh . Gives a name to the name of the department through which it flows.
