Tangelo ( C. reticulata x C. paradisi ) is a citrus culture , a hybrid of tangerine (one of the varieties of mandarin ) and grapefruit (or sometimes pomelo ). The fruit has the size of an orange or sometimes grapefruit. The flesh is yellow to orange in color and has a sour taste. The peel is orange in color, very easy to remove.

The hybrid was obtained in 1897 by Walter Tennyson Swing at the US Department of Agriculture.
Trees are quite large, more frost-resistant than grapefruit. It has several widely known varieties [1] :
