Hermod's meeting with Baldrom and Hel
After Balder was killed, Odin decided to return him to Asgard from the kingdom of the dead Helheim . For this, he gave Hermod his horse Slaipnir and ordered him to go to the dead lady Hel and offer her a ransom for Baldr. Hel agreed to let him go, if the whole world, all things and the creatures in him would mourn Baldur. However, Loki intervened, becoming a giantess who refused to mourn Baldr. And Baldr remained in the world of the dead. Before leaving, Hermod Baldr passed the ring of Draupnir through Odin, who was buried with him.
