With an area of 41,526 km², according to 2010 data, the Netherlands has a population density of 496 people per square kilometer [3] .

The Netherlands is the 15th most populous country in the world and occupies the 4th place in Europe after Monaco, the Vatican and Malta (in terms of size and population, the kingdom can be compared with the Moscow region (including Moscow )). Largely due to this, the Netherlands is one of the countries with the most developed transport and information infrastructure. 14.872 million people use the Internet [5] or 89.1% of the country's population - the 27th indicator in the world [7] .
Over the past 5 years, the average population density has grown by 15 people per square kilometer, and in the province of Flevoland this figure was 39 people (the province was created in drained territories, and initially its population was small). The fastest growing provinces are Utrecht , North Holland and South Holland . The ethnic composition of the population is as follows: 80.7% of the nationals are ethnic Dutch , 5% are from EU countries, 2.4% of the population are Indonesians, 2.2% are Turks. Surinamese and Moroccans make up 2% of the population. Most immigrants are in large cities. In the four largest cities ( Amsterdam , The Hague , Rotterdam and Utrecht ), the proportion of immigrants and indigenous people among children is growing. In Amsterdam, 55% of children from immigrant families, in Rotterdam, this number is also more than 50%. About 33% of the population of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are immigrants from non-European countries, this is much more than the whole country (11%, about 1.8 million). Most of the Dutch abroad live in Belgium (116,970), and the number of Flemings there is 6,161,600. Of the Dutch origin are 5 million people in the USA , 2 million in South Africa , 1 million in Canada , 0.5 million in Australia , and also hundreds of thousands in New Zealand, Germany , Great Britain , Namibia, countries of South America.
Recently, the number of families with 4 or more children has decreased, but the number of families with three children has not changed much. The decrease in the number of large families applies to all ethnic groups, and this has affected the families of immigrants from non-European countries (especially Morocco and Turkey ). There is a tendency that small families are more likely to be found in the Catholic regions of the Netherlands, and large ones in the Protestant ones.
The ethnic composition of the population is as follows: 80.7% Dutch (Dutch), 2.4% Germans , 2.4% Indonesians , 2.2% Turks , 2.0% Surinamese , 2% Moroccans , 1.5% Indians , 0, 8% are Antilians and Arubans , 6.0% are other ethnic groups.

Most Protestants visit the Protestant Church of Holland, there are small groups of Mennonites , Baptists , Adventists and the Union of Gospel Pentecostals ( Assemblies of God ) in the country.
