He graduated from the Paris Conservatoire at Yvonne Loriot . In 1986 he participated in the VIII International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, received the IV Prize.
Muraraau is considered one of the leading experts in piano works by Olivier Messiaen , whose performance was highly appreciated by the composer himself. In addition, the repertoire of Muraro's important place is occupied by Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto, “ Pictures from the Exhibition ” by Mussorgsky , works by Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt .
In 2001 he received the Victoire de la Musique award as the best instrumentalist of France.
