Career
He began his professional career at Empoli in 1998, to which he joined from Monterotondo . Having played for 3 years, he went to Parma . Within 2 years, he spent only 25 matches and went to Piacenza on loan to get more playing practice.
In the 2003/04 season, with coach Cesare Prandelli, Marcionny really blossomed. This season was very successful for him, he played 35 games and scored 6 goals. On November 12, 2003, he made his debut in the Italian national team in a friendly match against Poland .
The following season, Marco played 32 games and scored 6 goals. The 2005/06 season was not bad for Marchionny, he finished the season with 31 matches and 4 goals. His talent and relatively young age attracted the attention of Juventus . Marco joined his new team as a free agent in June 2006.
In July 2009, Marchionny moved from Juventus to Fiorentina . At the same time, both clubs agreed to transfer in the opposite direction to Felipe Melo [1] .
