He graduated from the Tambov Higher Military Aviation School named after M. M. Raskova (1971-1975), the Air Force Academy named after Yu. A. Gagarin (1985-1988), the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (1998-2000) .
He served in the units of Long-Range Aviation in the following positions: assistant commander and commander of a ship, deputy commander and commander of a squadron, commander of a heavy bomber aviation regiment, commander of a heavy bomber aviation division, head of flight security (06.2000-11.2002), chief of staff (11.2002-05.2007) , commander (05.2007-08.2009) of the 37th Air Army of the Supreme High Command (strategic purpose).
He mastered all types of long-range aircraft, flew about 3,000 hours.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star , ten medals. Sniper pilot, honored military pilot of the Russian Federation [1] .
