Itan Green Hawk ( born Ethan Green Hawke ; born November 6, 1970 , Austin , Texas , USA ) - American actor, film director and scriptwriter, writer, nominee for the Oscar (2002, 2005, 2014, 2015), Golden Globe (2015) and BAFTA (2015). He was awarded numerous awards both for screenwriting and acting, in particular, for key roles in the films “ Training Day ” (2002) and “ Adolescence ” (2014).

Biography
Ethan Hawke was born in Austin, Texas, to Leslie (before marriage Green) and James ( insurance mathematics ) Hawk [1] [2] . Hawk's parents got married when his mother was 17 years old [3] , and he was born a year later. Ethan's parents divorced soon after his birth, in 1974 [2] . His mother remarried when he was 10 years old, and the family moved to Township West Windsor, New Jersey. [4]
Hawk has a college degree. In Princeton, he studied acting at the famous McCarter Theater , attended acting classes at the British Theater Association in England and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh [5] . He is one of the founders of the Malaparte theater troupe and is its artistic director.
Career
Ethan first appeared in front of the camera at the age of 14 in the science fiction film "Researchers." This acting breakthrough was waiting for him in 1989 in the film " Society of Dead Poets ", followed by numerous other film works. His role in the film Training Day in 2001 was nominated for an Oscar for supporting role. In 2004, Hawk, along with his co-authors, was nominated for an Oscar for the best screenplay for the film Before Sunset . In the film “Chelsea Walls” , shown at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival , and in the film version of his own novel “The Hottest State”, Ethan Hawke also acted as a director.
Hawke made his debut in literature in 1996 with his novel The Hottest State , which tells the story of the love story of two young intellectuals in New York in the 1990s. His second novel, Ash Wednesday, was released in 2003. In 2015, the novel "Rules of the Knight" .
For the role of the caring father of the protagonist in the parable " Adolescence " (2014), he was awarded many awards, including nominations for the Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globe , BAFTA and Oscar.
Personal life
He currently lives in the home of Boerum Hill, in Brooklyn [6] and has a small island in Nova Scotia [7] .

Family
From 1998 to 2005 [9] he was married to actress Ume Thurman [10] . The former spouses have two children: a daughter, Maya Ray Thurman Hawk (07/08/1998) and a son Levon Green Hawk (01/15/2002).
Since June 18, 2008, he has been married to Ryan Schohyuz [11] [12] . The couple have two daughters: Clementine Jane Hawk (2008) and Indiana Hawk (2011) [13] [14] .
Policy
Hawk supports the US Democratic Party. He supported Bill Bradley , John Kerry , Barack Obama in 2000, 2004 and 2008 [15] [16] .
