Gambia Administrative Division

The Gambia

The Gambia is divided into one city and 5 districts ( English Division ) (in brackets are administrative centers) [1] :

  1. Lower River ( Mansa Konko )
  2. Central River ( Yanyanbure )
  3. North Bank ( Kerevan )
  4. Upper River ( Basse Santa Su )
  5. Western Area ( Brikama )
  6. Banjul ( born Banjul ) is a city.

At the same time, the Gambian territory is divided into eight Local Government Areas. The so-called Big Banjul is divided into two areas of local government: directly Banjul and Kanifing . The Central River is also divided into two parts: Yanyanbure and Kuntaur. All other districts are not divided. Local government areas, in turn, are divided into 43 districts ( Eng. District), one of which is North Combo (Combo St. Mary) is part of Greater Banjul [2] .
