"Barrier" ( Bulgarian. Barierata ) - the story of the Bulgarian writer Pavel Vezhinov . The story was first published in 1976 , translated into many languages, including Russian . It was first published in Russian in the journal Foreign Literature (1978, No. 1), translated by Maya Tarasova , with a foreword by Lev Ozerov . [1] In the USSR, the circulation of various publications exceeded 500,000 copies. In 1979, the film of the same name was shot with the participation of Innocent Smoktunovsky and Vanya Tsvetkova in the lead roles. [2] There are numerous theatrical productions on the plot of the story. For the story "Barrier" in 1976, Pavel Vezhinov was awarded the Dimitrov Prize . [3]
