Aleksey Leontievich Narochnitsky (February 3 ( 16 ), 1907 , Chernigov - June 14, 1989 , Moscow ) - Soviet historian , academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1968) and USSR Academy of Sciences (1972), specialist in the history of international relations , head of the publication of diplomatic documents of Russian foreign policy XIX century [2] .

Biography
He graduated from Kiev University (1930). In the years 1946-1960, a senior researcher at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , in those years, first an assistant professor, then (since 1955) professor at the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU . In the years 1949-1960 - head of the department of modern history of the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. V.P. Potemkin . Since 1960 - Head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. V.I. Lenin . Since 1962 - Editor-in-Chief of the journal " New and Contemporary History ". Since 1974 - Director of the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences of the USSR . In 1975, he led the Soviet delegation at a scientific conference in Yugoslavia [3] . Member of the CPSU since 1961 [2] .
Daughters - E. A. Narochnitskaya, N. A. Narochnitskaya .
He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery [4] .
In the opinion of Professor M. N. Mashkin , “a special place in all the works of A. L. Narochnitsky was occupied by counteracting nihilistically hostile views on Russia's foreign policy” [5] .
