The forum was founded in 2003 . [one]
In 2007, the forum had about 20 thousand participants [2] , as of March 2009, more than 36 thousand users were registered at PiK.
The site of the “Dog and Cat” Foundation was unsuccessfully nominated for the Runet Prize 2007 [3] .

Forum Participant Activities
The main focus of the Pesikot forum is fundraising and the provision of paid services to homeless animals.
Also, the forum constantly collects and updates information on lost and found animals, cases of animal cruelty , current animal laws and legislative initiatives.
In addition to direct assistance to homeless animals and shelters, forum participants come together to write letters , appeal to authorities , Russian and foreign animal protection organizations, hold pickets [4] , organize events , holidays [5] and exhibitions.
PiKovtsy contributed to the fact that some animals got a new home in Western Europe [2] .
Thanks to forum users and forum visitors, dozens of private and home shelters are supported, thousands of cats and dogs have been saved. [1] [6] Public attention is constantly being drawn to the problems of homeless animals and animal abuse [7] [8]
