He graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan in the class of organ, while studying conductor's art. Daniele continued his conducting studies at the Pescara Higher Music Academy under Gilberto Serembé , then studied at the Chigi Music Academy in Siena with Gianluigi Gelmetti and the Royal Academy of Music in London with Colin Davis . Rustioni also calls his teacher Gianandrea Noseda , from whom he passed a master class.
Currently, Rustioni is the chief guest conductor of the Ashovert Music Festival English festival, is the deputy dean of the vocal department of the Royal Academy of Music and a teacher of singing at the National Opera Studio, where he also works as an assistant to Sir Colin Davis . Daniele Rustioni actively collaborates with the Teatro alla Scala .
He was the conductor of the Tuscany Regional Orchestra in Florence, the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra in Germany, the Nordfjord Opera Symphony Orchestra in Norway, the Bard College Symphony Orchestra in New York, the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and the King's College Symphony Orchestra in London.
In January 2008, Daniele Rustioni became the musical director and conductor of the production of the opera “ Country Honor ” at the Mikhailovsky Theater.
