Biography
He graduated from the Petrograd Conservatory in the class of violin Sergei Korguev . Since 1927 he taught at the Leningrad Conservatory. Among the students of Shera are Vladimir Ovcharek , Mark Komissarov , Victor Liberman , Anatoly Reznikovsky, Zinovy Vinnikov and others. Vladimir Spivakov studied at the secondary special music school at the Leningrad Conservatory. According to the memoirs of M.E. Belodubrovsky,
A good half of the violinists of the Leningrad Philharmonic orchestras of that time were probably his students. He possessed a special pedagogical gift to nonverbally introduce into the spirit of music, convey its essence, style as if "he saw it itself." This remained forever and when referring to this author did not require repeated explanations. “Don’t listen to the record. We will figure it out ourselves, ”he usually said [1] .
Among the works of V. I. Shera - Concert fantasy for violin on the theme of M. Glinka’s opera “ Ruslan and Lyudmila ”, Children's concert for violin and orchestra ( 1947 ), other violin and chamber music.
According to the memoirs of E.E. Fedorov, Veniamin Sher in the second half of the 1940s. played in the Glazunov Quartet on the viola [2] .
