Biography
Johnson spent his childhood on a farm in Vermont. His family, in his own words, was quite religious. My father was a Swede, and my mother was a Latvian. As a teenager, he strenuously and very successfully engaged in various sports, including basketball and armwrestling. In the latter he was recognized as the second strongest in the whole world. One day, his friend offered a role in his amateur film and Johnson rejected the offer first. But after several persistent requests, he still gave up and took part. At that moment he discovered for himself that it was the acting that attracted him the most. He packed up and left for Los Angeles in pursuit of his dream. However, not everything went smoothly right there. For a long time he lived in a rented apartment with the same unemployed actor. Often they had to be very tight due to lack of money. Everywhere Johnson was rejected at auditions and this seemed to have no end. But gradually went proposals for shooting in advertising and modeling. Johnson was filming along with the then unknown Brad Pitt on the chip footage shoot. After some time, the sentences went in bit parts in various TV shows.
He felt more confident when he got the role of a young pilot, Butch Burner Barnes named Pyro in the eponymous series “ Golden Wings of Pensacola ”. For the actor it was a truly great breakthrough, and over time he became the main character in this TV show.
In 1998, he starred in the movie " Blade ", where he appeared in the first minutes of the film.
The Shield
Johnson auditioned for the role of detective Terry Crowley, who eventually went to another actor. But for Johnson's luck, the creator of the show, Sean Ryan, was so impressed with his audition that he created for Johnson a new role as Detective Curtis Lemanski. Johnson successfully played five seasons of this show.
Rescue Grace
After finishing work on Shield , Johnson spent a long time looking for a new actor home. However, after reading the script for the pilot episode “ Save Grace, ” he realized that this was what he needed.
