RU Cancer ( lat. RU Cancri ) - a variable star , or a variable of type RS Hounds Dogs . It is located in the constellation Cancer . This is a yellow-white dwarf class F main sequence .

Orbital Research
Oscillations of the orbital period of two systems of binary stars of the RS CVn type, - RU Cancer and AW Hercules, are given based on the analysis of the entire available minimum amount of light radiation. So it was found that the orbital period of RU Cancer shows two possible periods of oscillation with periods of 13.38 (± 0.23) and 37.6 (± 3.4) years. The corresponding oscillation amplitudes are about 0.0098 (± 0.0023) and 0.0119 (± 0.0017) days. For the Hercules AW star, it was found that the period shows cyclic changes with a periodicity of 12.79 (± 0.34) years and an amplitude of about 0.0327 (± 0.0063) days. Since the RU of Cancer and AW of Hercules are two stellar systems of the RS CVn type, cyclic oscillations of the period with a high probability can be caused by cycles of magnetic activity. [1] [2]
