History
Around the XVII century, the Yenisei Cossacks learned about the existence of the Buryats, occupying almost all of the Angara region, and began to rapidly explore unfamiliar territories and push the natives to the east. According to unspecified data, Kuitun (stanets) began to be settled in 1680 and began to develop as an attractive village , through which state mail and various cargoes were transported.
In 1872, a mixed school was opened in Kuitun, after 6 years a parish school, and in 1899 a female school. In 1890, a brick factory was built, which began to work at full capacity only after the Civil War.
September 26, 1957 Kuitong becomes a working village.
