Utupua is an island in the western Pacific Ocean in the group of Santa Cruz islands . Administratively part of the province of Temotu state of the Solomon Islands .

Geography
Located 70 km southeast of the island of Nendo and 43 km northwest of Vanikoro .
Utupua Square is 69 km². The island is surrounded by a coral reef . Like the other islands in the Santa Cruz group, Utupua is of volcanic origin. The highest point of the island is Mount Royal (378 m).
Population
In 2009, the population of Utupua was 1168 people. [1] There are seven villages on the coast, the most important of which is the village of Asumbua .
