Activity
In 1942, during the blockade of Leningrad, the Sevkabel plant produced 100 km of power submarine " life cable ", which supplied the besieged city with electric power from the Volkhov hydropower station .
In 2006-2007, by a decision of the shareholders, all profits were directed towards development. [one]
In March 2008, it was announced that the use of cables made of cross-linked polyethylene for 1-35 kV in St. Petersburg electrical networks was approved by the Cable Network branch Lenenergo . [five]
In 2014, the reorganization took place at the Sevkabel plant and the main top management was replaced. In 2017, a vertically integrated consortium with ROSSKAT was created on the basis of the production facilities of Sevkabel [6] . The plant management announced that it plans to build a new plant outside the city in continuation of its public and cultural initiative to renovate the “gray belt” of St. Petersburg, and work on its creation will be completed by 2020. [7]
Also, as part of the renovation of the “gray belt,” the plant initiated the creation of a public space at Port Sevkabel . To simplify logistics, the plant transferred 3 production lines to workshops on the Kozhevennaya line and transferred 20% of its territory to the Sevkabel Port project [8] .
